Image provenance
Every image on this site is generated. None is a photograph of a Lolwe AI deployment, client site or member of staff. This page says so plainly, and describes why the label cannot be omitted.
The statement
Images on this site are classified. Plates marked documentary are photographs of real places and events, with capture date and location recorded in the registry. Plates marked illustrative are generated visualisations used to convey context and story. They depict the kinds of work, places and activity described on the page, and are not records of any specific site, person, business or event. Plates marked graphic are designed artefacts — diagrams, cards and covers — which depict nothing and claim nothing. Any third-party name or mark appearing incidentally within an illustrative plate is the property of its owner, and its appearance implies no endorsement, affiliation or commercial relationship.
Every image currently published on this site is illustrative. The documentary class has no members yet. None of the plates depicts a real Lolwe AI deployment, a client site, a member of staff or a piece of equipment we have installed. The hands in them are not our operators' hands. The rooms in them are not rooms we have worked in. They illustrate a kind of work and a kind of terrain, because we do not yet hold photographs of our own and would rather publish a labelled illustration than an unlabelled implication.
This matters more here than on most sites. A page arguing that a deployment should be described exactly cannot illustrate itself with images that imply work it has not done.
What every generated image carries
The visible caption, on every plate, without exception:
Illustrative visualisation. Not a photograph of a specific site, person, business or event.
And the alt text supplied to screen readers, scrapers and summarisers always begins with the same prefix, before any description:

How the disclosure is enforced
The labelling is structural rather than editorial, because editorial discipline is exactly what fails on the fourth page of a busy week.
- Generated images render only through one component, and it has no caption prop. The caption is a constant inside it. There is no way to render the image without the caption, and no way to substitute a different one from a call site.
- That component has no alt prop. Alt text is assembled from a central registry and always placed behind the disclosure prefix, so the label reaches assistive technology and automated readers, not only sighted visitors.
- It has no image prop. It accepts a code that indexes the registry, so an unregistered image cannot be introduced at a call site.
- Captions are permanently visible. Never behind a hover, never in a tooltip, never collapsed on a narrow screen.
- Real photographs use a separate component that carries no illustrative label. The two are deliberately not one component with a flag, because mislabelling a real photograph as generated is a worse error than the reverse.
Real photographs
There are none on this site at present. When a photograph of an actual deployment exists, with the client's agreement, it will be published through the separate component and captioned as a real photograph with its date and place — and it will outrank every illustration here.
Editing
Generated images are not retouched to imply capability: no invented interfaces, no readable screens, no equipment we do not use. They are graded for consistency and nothing else.

Every generated image on this site, its description, and where it appears. This table is rendered from the registry the site itself uses, so it cannot fall out of date.
